I went into /tmp, found about 4Gb of useless cruft, and promptly deleted it. The /tmp/ directory was owned by my username with 755 permissions and the sticky bit wasn't set so no other users could write temporary files: Code: chmod 777 /tmp chmod +t And sometimes permission would be the culprit.
