Can anyone help me to understand what is going on and how I can stop this happening? Installed a fresh NT 4.0 wkstn on a new Compaq laptop and everytime I reboot the computer I see the following in the Event Viewer: EVENT 8033 "The browser has forced I can appreciate that the laptop is not as happy as it would be if it could see it's own domain, but we've tried two of our other laptops (very much The reboot of a domain controller is a common reason for this event to show up in the event log.

I would guess that you're losing your connection, the laptop can't contact the master browser, and so it elects a new master browser (itself).
